Bicycle and Pedestrian Study Group
This group focuses on non-motorized transportation issues and concerns within the MPO Planning Area. Current projects include development maps of preferred bikeways and regional urban trails planning. Participants include representatives from the City of Santa Fe Bicycle and Trails Advisory Committee (BTAC) and the Santa Fe County Citizens’ Open Land and Trails Planning Advisory Committee (COLTPAC), the NMDOT, MPO staff, and community advocates.
The Study Groups next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday March 24th @ 3:00PM.

Current Bikeways Planning Activities
The MPO Has hired the services of Tim Rogers to assist it with identifying existing and future bicycle facilities for inclusion in the Metropolitan Transportation Plan Update. The MPO is working with its Bicycle/Pedestrian Study Group, the City’s Bicycle and Trails Advisory Group (BTAC), and Santa Fe County’s Open Space and Trails Department and the Growth Management Department in developing a priorities for study and implementation of the suggested bikeways, connections and road improvements. It should be noted that currently these are suggestions that are going through a review process and may change as input is obtained.

This presentation is being presented to the Santa Fe MPO Bicycle/Pedestrian Study Group on Wednesday January 20th and to the Bicycle Trails Advisory Committee on Thursday January 21st. Attendance is welcome at both meetings.
