The 2020-2045 Santa Fe MPO Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), provides an approach to transportation planning that includes multiple modes of travel: walking, biking, public transit, and driving. The MTP document coordinates and integrates with our Public Transit Master Plan, Pedestrian Master Plan, and Bicycle Master Plan.

The Pedestrian Master Plan informs the 2015-2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan to guide the development of Santa Fe’s pedestrian environment. →
The first version of the Safe Routes to School Plan was adopted by the MPO’s Transportation Policy Board in December of 2023. This work will continue under the guidance of the Santa Fe Public School System. →

After mapping, projects can be prioritized for funding and implementation. The highest priority projects will be accessible for review with member governments so they can be included into the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). . Based on concentrations of high priority projects, high priority pedestrian improvement zones can be designated to complete improvements by geographic area.
