Metropolitan Transportation Plan

The Santa Fe MPO shall commence steps to update the 2015 – 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) to begin on March 1st, 2019 and to be concluded by August 30th, 2020. 

The Santa Fe MPO 2015-2040 MTP integrates mode-specific master plans and three recent major corridor studies and addresses pedestrian, bicycle, transit, rail and road needs.

Integrating Plans

The Santa Fe MPO is currently updating the 2012 Bicycle Master Plan for 2019 by including a new on-line web-based mapping platform.

The Pedestrian Master Plan informs the 2015-2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan to guide the development of Santa Fe’s pedestrian environment.

The Plan’s goal is to enhance viable transit options.

After mapping, projects can be prioritized for funding and implementation. The highest priority projects will be accessible for review with member governments so they can be included into the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). . Based on concentrations of high priority projects, high priority pedestrian improvement zones can be designated to complete improvements by geographic area.
