The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a short-term project list that includes transportation projects for all modes expected to be funded within a four year period. The current TIP for the Santa Fe MPO for FY2010-2013 and was adopted by the Transportation Policy Board on April 14, 2009 and amended on June 11, 2009, August 13, 2009, October 8, 2009, February 11, 2010 and May 13, 2010.  An Administrative Amendment was made on May 25, 2010.  Projects included in the TIP must be consistent with the long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).

2010-2013 Transportation Improvement Program
PROJECT: Increase in Federal Funds for 
Rail Runner Operations in FY2011
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: 06/30/10-08/12/10

Due to the lower than projected Gross Reciept Tax (GRT) revenues the NMDOT needs to use an additional $3 million in Federal CMAQ (Congestion Mitigation, Air Quality)  Flex Funds for Rail Runner Phase II operations and maintenance in Fiscal Year 2011.  The use of these funds will allow for the continuation of Rail Runner services at their current levels in 2011.  The addition of these Federal Funds to this project requires a formal Amendment to the Santa Fe MPO Transportation Improvement Program.

The MPO Public Participation Process requires a minimum 30-Day Public Review period for such amendments.  In addition the Technical Coordinating Committee (TCC) will review the amendment at its August 2nd Meeting where they will vote to make a recommendation to the Transportation Policy Board (TPB). A formal Public Hearing will be held at the August 12th TPB meeting where final comment will be accepted before the board votes on the amendment.

Public Comment can be submitted at any time up until the close of the Public Hearing on August 12th, 2010.
