Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a short-term project list that includes transportation projects for all modes expected to be funded within a four year period. The TIP is based on the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) which runs from October 1st through September 30th (e.g. FFY2014 begins October 1st, 2013).

The MPO is required to produce a new TIP every two years. The FFY2012-2015 TIP was approved by the Transportation Policy Board on May 12th, 2011 and most recently amended on March 14th, 2013. This is currently the official TIP for FFY 2012 through 2013. The FFY2014-2017 TIP was approved on April 11th, 2013 and is now the official TIP for FFY 2014 through 2017.

Projects included in the TIP must be consistent with the long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).

NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

FOR A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE

FFY2012-2015 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

Public Comment Period: 04/30/13 – 05/29/13

The proposed Amendment includes the following changes:

CN:S100090 – Las Soleras Rail Runner Station Construction

The New Mexico Department of Transportation has informed (Letter) the MPO that this project has been cancelled and requested it be removed from the TIP.

CN:T900090 – Veterans Transportation Community Living Initiative (VTCLI) Discretionary Grant Program

New Project to reflect the award of funding to Santa Fe Trails for the Upgrade of scheduling software in Vehicle Technology and Routing, and Updated Regional Call Center for a more efficient reservation scheduling and delivery. This is a statewide program equaling $344,000 in Section 5309 FTA funding. Santa Fe was awarded a portion of this funding.

FTA Section 5309 Funds = $52,000; Local Match = $13,000; Project Total = $65,000

Draft TIP Amendment

The Public Comment Period runs from April 30^th, 2013 through May 29^th, 2013. The MPO Technical Coordinating Committee will review submitted public comment and make a recommendation on the proposed amendment at their next meeting on May 20th and the MPO Transportation Policy Board will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed amendment at their next meeting on May 30^th, 2013
