The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a short-term project list that includes transportation projects for all modes expected to be funded within a four year period.  The TIP is based on on the Federal Fiscal Year which runs from October 1st through Spetember 30th (i.e. FFY2012 begins October 1st, 2011). 

The MPO is required to produce a new TIP every two years.  The FFY2012-2015 TIP was approved by the Transportation Policy Board on May 12th, 2011 and is now the official TIP for the FFY 2012 through 2015.

Projects included in the TIP must be consistent with the long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).

NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

FOR A PROPOSED AMENDMENT

Public Comment Period 12/16/11 – 01/20/12

The proposed Amendment is to add two new projects. 

The Interstate 25 Canoncito Interchange (Exit 294) Improvement Project is currently going through the amendment process to be added to the Metropolitan Transportation Plan.  Funding for this project cannot be allocated unless the amendment to the MTP is approved.  Both amendments are going through a parallel process, but the Transportation Policy Board must first approve the addition of the project to the MTP before taking action on the TIP amendment.  NMDOT District 5 has identified $7,000,000 from their District Target for construction of the selected improvements in FFY2013.

The second project is the Rehabilitation of Caja del Rio Road in Santa Fe County.  This project was identified as a Regional Significant project in the MTP and is being totally funded with $3,000,000 in County Bond Funding.

 DRAFT AMENDMENT FFY2012-2015 TIP

The Public Comment Period runs from December 16th, 2011 through January 20th, 2012.  The MPO Technical Coordinating Committee will review submitted public comment and make a recommendation on the proposed amendment at their January 23rd, 2012 meeting and the MPO Transportation Policy Board will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed amendment at their February 9th, 2012 meeting.
