Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a short-term project list that includes transportation projects for all modes expected to be funded within a four year period.  The TIP is based on on the Federal Fiscal Year which runs from October 1st through Spetember 30th (i.e. FFY2012 begins October 1st, 2011). 

The MPO is required to produce a new TIP every two years.  The FFY2012-2015 TIP was approved by the Transportation Policy Board on May 12th, 2011 and is now the official TIP for the FFY 2012 through 2015.

Projects included in the TIP must be consistent with the long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

FOR A PROPOSED AMENDMENT

 Public Comment Period 04/09/12 – 05/09/12

 The proposed Amendment includes the following changes:

CN:5100390 – NM599/CR62 Interchange 

  • Federal Funding Source change from Bridge Rehabilitation & Reconstruction to STP/Under 200,000 resulting in a change in match requirements and an increse in Federal Funding  of $179,738 and a reduction in State Match.  Total funding remains the same. 
  • Change determined to be a Administrative Modification that does not require public review and was made with the April 12th Amendment.

CN:S100140 – I-25 at Cerrillos Interchange 

  • Increase funding from $4.7M to $9,060,683 to closer match expected final cost estimate. 

CN:S100040 – Santa Fe Rail Trail 

  • Increase funding from $201,000 to $944,576 to reflect final cost estimate.  Increse Federal funding from $150,750 to $300,750.  Balance to be paid for with County funds. 

CN:S100060 – NM Central Rail Trail 

  • Transfer $100,000 in funds to S100040 and remove project from the TIP.  Project is not ready to move forward at this time.

TIP Draft Amendment

 The Public Comment Period runs from April 9th, 2012 through May 9th, 2012.  The MPO Technical Coordinating Committee will review submitted public comment and make a recommendation on the proposed amendment at their next meeting and the MPO Transportation Policy Board will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed amendment at their May 10th, 2012 meeting.
